Free energy advice event in Esher on 25 November 2026
Elmbridge residents can get free, impartial advice on energy bills and making their homes warmer at a drop-in event in Esher on Wednesday 25 November 2026.
Elmbridge Borough Council is working with Energy Manage and Lower Green Community Centre to bring trusted local organisations together for the Energy Awareness Community Event.
The council says rising energy bills and everyday living costs are putting households under pressure to keep their homes warm and comfortable through the winter. Finding clear information and understanding the support available can also be challenging for some families.
When and where is the event?
- Event: Energy Awareness Community Event
- Date: Wednesday 25 November 2026
- Time: 11.30am to 2.30pm
- Venue: Lower Green Community Centre, Farm Road, Esher KT10 8AU
- Admission: Free drop-in event
What advice will be available?
Residents can ask questions and find out about:
- Reducing energy use and household bills
- Making homes warmer and more energy efficient
- Grants, insulation and energy-efficiency schemes
- Understanding energy tariffs
- Help with energy debts and fuel crisis support
- The Priority Services Register and other support services
The event will bring local organisations together in one welcoming setting, making it easier for residents to access friendly, impartial advice and practical support. The council says fuel poverty can affect anyone and no one should feel they have to face these challenges alone.
Help with warmer, more efficient homes
The Elmbridge Climate Change Citizens’ Panel highlighted the difficulties of making homes more energy efficient when households are already under financial pressure. Personalised advice and information about grants and support schemes may help residents find practical ways to reduce costs and make their homes more comfortable.
Cllr Ashley Tilling, Climate Change, Environmental Services and Sustainability, said:
The Energy Awareness Community Event will bring together trusted local partners to offer free, independent advice on reducing energy use, accessing financial support and making homes more energy efficient. Residents on lower incomes may be eligible for grants, subsidies and other support to help make their homes warmer, more comfortable and cheaper to heat. I encourage everyone to come along, get impartial advice and find out what help may be available to keep their home warm this winter.
